Recapping 2023
In 2023 we had a planned break from having any new foals. We like to stay small enough to be able to give all the horses individual care.
In the spring we loaded yearling Swagger MF up to head to his owner (and maternal brother) in VA. It was fun following his adventures to Young Horse Show series and hanging out at bigger shows with brother Jenuine Legacy MF. I even got to see them both when helping out at the YHS in MD.
We had a successful second year hosting the Young Horse Show series in MO. The Arena set up looked fantastic, the volunteers were amazing, and the schedule ran smoothly. We had our 2yo Rivendell MF (Cornet Obolensky X Burggraaf) there competing as well as Rubaiyat MF (Emerald X Alphabet Soup), whose owner and future trainer came to watch! Both got top placings at liberty and free jumping. Rubaiyat made the trip a couple of months later to Chicago to begin training .
Soliloquy MF (Grand Slam VDL X Alphabet Soup) competed in the yearlings, winning a blue ribbon for her owner. 4yo Ollivander MF (Lordanos X Holy Bull) made another appearance for his owner, once again looking elegant and receiving top scores. He’s been traveling frequently for dressage lessons and clinics as his owner brings him along.
Mirabilis (Emilion X Burggraaf) went to a couple of horse shows and clinics throughout the year. She got stronger, more confident, more ridable, and more fun! We got glowing reports on 5yo Narnian MF (Diamont De Semilly X Emilion) with his owner in North Carolina. He looks like a blast to ride around a jumper course and has a bright future! We wish we could make another one of him. Night Train MF (Emerald X Burggraaf) spent time in the hunter ring, earning tricolor in Travers City. He spends most of his time at college with his young owner doing all the things, including cross country schooling. Symbolist (Daaher X Alphabet Soup) retired off the track and moved to his new home in Nebraska. He’s developing into a jack of all trades, and was 2nd in his first and only post track competition in eventing! Latido (Zirocco Blue X Alphabet Soup) has been being leased by his owner to an amazing family. His rider moved up to him off of ponies and immediately qualified for Jr. Hunter Finals!
We spent many days and hours working to get mares bred for the 2024 season. Madeira (Balou de Rouet X Holy Bull xx) was added to the brood mare herd. We are expecting three foals: Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve X Burggraaf, Untouchable 27 X Colbert GTI, and Grand Slam VDL X Balou de Ruet.
